I stopped watching TV serials long back. Reason? No fresh content, no storyline, no emotional connect – there was only (annoying) drama.
But what I was looking for from a long time, I found it on the web. I am loving the way the web series and short film makers are dealing with delicate subjects and how well they are handling them. What I am loving more is how well they are balancing the greys of every character. One such web series is, Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai.
We Indians have always looked down upon the other woman in the husband’s life. She is always a vamp for us. Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai deals with the extra-marital affair (and then, the second marriage) with utmost finesse.
Mona Singh as Ananya Sharma is wonderful. You can neither hate her nor blame her or call her a home-breaker. Even if you don’t like her at the beginning, you will eventually fall in love with her, and the way she handles – not just Rohit’s family but the whole awkward situation of always being the ‘other woman.’
What I loved the most about Ananya is that she knows when to step back and when to get involved.
While Ananya forces you to change the way you look at the ‘other woman’ in the husband’s life, your heart will still break a little for Poonam, every time she helplessly watches her husband have a happily ever after with someone else. She is the woman who devoted her life to her husband, his well-being, his career, his family; and then, one fine day, she finds him choose a career-oriented woman over her, for whom, kids and family, and at times, even the husband may take a back seat.
When you see the whole story from Poonam’s point of view, even you won’t be able to stop yourself from wondering – What do men really want?
As Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai Season 2 is still on, all we can do is, sit back and watch the story unfold. It might make us dive deeper into complex emotions and relationships, or maybe it will finally give us an answer to, what do men really want?
Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai Season 2 plus point: Season 2 is as interesting and gripping as Season 1. It is no more confined to an extra-marital affair. It’s taking you on a ride of emotions (and extra baggage) that come as a part and parcel of (second) ‘MARRIAGE.’
