Before Netflix, Prime Video, Sony LIV, and every other OTT platform, I check Amazon miniTV for new releases. I am not a big fan of their web series to be honest but I love their mini movies. Single Jhumka, Shimmy, and Ek Jhalak were among my first favourites. I am glad to see that Amazon is maintaining the standard when it comes to content. Anyway, let’s talk about their latest release, Gunchakkar starring Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, and Hussain Dalal.
Though Gunchakkar revolves around the cops and the politics that surround them; trust me, every corporate employee would relate to this. The friendship, tu tu main main during appraisals, and back to friendship scenes because “boss hi kamina hai” is so damn relatable.
After comparing the story with the corporate world, you will be able to easily guess the plot of Gunchakkar but still, there is a twist and it’s a “WTF” kind of a twist. Two cops, Thakkar and Salunkhe who are also good friends are about to wrap things up for the night when they get a tip from the control room about an illegal movement. With no further details, Thakkar and Salunkhe look at this as an opportunity to give their career a much needed boost. Without wasting time, they rush to the reported spot and start blabbering on the megaphone to scare whoever is inside. That ‘whoever and whatever’ starts firing leaving these two guys with no other choice then to fire back in defence. What happens next is fun to watch.
Who gave these cops the tip about the criminal? What was the intention? Why did the boss not show up? Will Thakkar and Salunkhe really get rewarded? Or will they be punished for being overenthusiastic?
Gunchakkar is just a 24-minutes long film so I will end this post here as I don’t want to reveal much. You go and watch this film on Amazon miniTV app now. If you are still confused about where and how to watch Amazon miniTV, read everything about the app here.
