Don’t judge him. Don’t judge him as neither you nor I know anything about the battles he was fighting. Depression hits you hard. It catches you off-guard. Before you can help yourself or call for help, it strangles you, it strangles you so hard that even if you want to scream for help, you can’t. Before you know, you are silenced.. Forever!
Please understand that it doesn’t always have to be failure. It can be anything that you were not ready for. Don’t jump to conclusions. The last thing a depressed person, a suicidal person needs is your unsolicited advice. The first thing a depressed person needs is someone who would listen to him, without asking him to be strong.
If you consider him weak for taking that extreme step, people like you are the very reason why people don’t open up about depression. If you can’t help, at least don’t make it worse.
To everyone battling depression, you are brave and I am so proud of you for choosing life over death every time you feel like giving up on life.
